the danger of generalization

a group of friends, musing on how to get a guy friend to start carrying tampons around for them:

guy friend: i guess i could be like "i'm carrying them around to stop potential nosebleeds"
girl #1: just make sure to break off the tip with the string on it and use that side to put in the nose
girl #2: are those even sterile to use in the nose?
girl #3: i hope so...i mean, they come wrapped in plastic and stuff
girl #1: i guess so
girl #3: it's like, everything that you can stick in the vagina, you should be able to stick in the nose
girl #4: ...not...quite...
